Key Steps
1. Open Calendar Settings 0:00
Navigate to Settings.
Open Processor Settings.
Select Calendar.
This is where custom calendar event types are created and managed.
2. Review Existing Event Types and Color Options 0:11
View the list of existing event categories.
Confirm each event type has an assigned color.
Use colors to visually distinguish event types on the calendar.
Examples of event types include:
Holidays
Maintenance days
Staff training
3. Understand How Event Types Work 0:16
Event types are used to categorize calendar events.
Every event added to the calendar is assigned to a type.
The assigned type determines the color shown on the calendar.
Use event types to keep calendar entries organized and easy to scan.
4. Disable an Event Type When It Is No Longer Needed 0:26
If an event type is no longer needed, disable it instead of deleting it.
Disabled types are removed from:
The Add Event picker
The calendar filter
Existing events already assigned to that type will still remain visible on the calendar.
5. Create a New Event Type 0:41
Add a new event type when a new category is needed.
Enter the event type name, such as Inspector in the Plant.
Choose a color for the type.
You may select a preset color or define a custom color.
6. Enable and Save the New Event Type 0:57
Make sure the new event type is enabled.
Save the configuration.
Return to the calendar to confirm the new type is available for use.
7. Add an Event Using the New Type 1:09
Open the calendar and choose a day.
Select View Day or Add Event.
Change the event type to the newly created category.
Enter the event title, such as USDA.
Save the event to place it on the calendar.
8. Verify the Event Displays Correctly 1:19
Confirm the event appears on the calendar with:
The correct event type
The correct title
The assigned color
Add a description or notes if needed, such as All day inspection.
Hover over the event to verify the notes display properly.
Cautionary Notes
Disabling an event type does not remove existing events already assigned to it.
Be careful when choosing colors so event types remain easy to distinguish.
Ensure the event type is enabled before trying to add new events under it.
Verify descriptions are entered correctly if they need to appear on hover.
Tips for Efficiency
Use consistent naming conventions for event types to avoid confusion.
Assign distinct colors to frequently used categories for faster visual recognition.
Keep retired event types disabled instead of deleting them to preserve historical calendar entries.
Add short, clear descriptions to help users understand event details at a glance.
