The Marketplace lets buyers find your farm, claim a whole, half, or quarter animal, and pay a deposit online. Before you can post your first listing, you need a scheduled job at your processor and three things finished on your Profile: your contact and farm details, your public farm page, and payments. This article walks through all four.

Listings are tied to a real animal with a real harvest date. Before you can list, you must have a job scheduled with your processor in Farmshare for the animal you want to sell. That job supplies the harvest date, the processor, and the cutsheet the buyer will fill out.

If you haven't scheduled yet, click Schedule Job from your jobs list, pick your processor, species, head count, and drop-off date, and submit. Once the processor accepts it, the animal is available to list.

You cannot list an animal that isn't attached to a scheduled job. If you don't see an animal when you go to create a listing, check that the job exists and has been accepted by your processor.

Click your initials in the bottom-left corner of the screen, then choose Account.

You'll land on the Profile page. It has three tabs: Profile, Marketplace Landing Page, and Marketplace Defaults. You'll use all three.

The Profile tab holds your contact details and farm address. The yellow Selling banner at the bottom tells you exactly what's still missing before you can list.

To list on the Marketplace, you need:

Save your changes. The Selling banner updates as each requirement is met.

Under Selling, click Setup next to Set up payments. This connects a Stripe account so deposits from buyers go straight to you.

Stripe will ask for your business details and a bank account. Verification usually takes a few minutes but can take up to a day or two. You can finish steps 3 and 4 while you wait. The circle next to Set up payments fills in once Stripe is connected.

A Farmshare listing fee applies per sale and is deducted from your proceeds. You won't be charged anything to set up or post a listing.

Click the Marketplace Landing Page tab. This is your public farm page. Everything here is what buyers see when they find you.

Buyer marketplace page. This is your farm's public link. Copy it to share on social media or with existing customers. The box-and-arrow icon opens it in a new tab so you can preview.

Farm logo. Square images work best. This also becomes your account avatar and counts as the profile photo required in step 2.

Banner image. A wide photo across the top of your farm page. Pasture shots, your animals, or your family at work all do well here.

Thumbnail image. The small image on the discovery cards buyers scroll through. If you skip this, your banner is used instead. A tight, recognizable crop reads better at small size than a landscape.

Bio. Up to 600 characters. This is your elevator pitch: who you are, what you raise, how you raise it.

About this farm. Longer-form, with formatting. Use it for your story, your practices, how pickup works, or anything a buyer would ask before committing.

Highlights. Pick up to five short descriptors (for example, grass-finished, no antibiotics, pasture-raised). They appear as chips on your farm page and help buyers filter.

Click Save Marketplace Settings when you're done.

Click the Marketplace Defaults tab. Defaults are set once per animal type and autofill every listing you create, so you're not re-entering the same pricing and deposit each time. You can still change any individual listing.

For each animal type:

Default size. Pick the weight class that matches most of your animals. For beef, the ranges are XS (800 to 950 lb) through XL (1,400 to 1,600 lb), live weight.

Allowed section sizes. Choose which portions you'll sell: Whole, Half, Quarter, or any combination. Only the sizes you select here can be claimed by buyers.

Pricing. Choose Flat fee (one price per section) or $/lb hanging (priced on hanging weight after harvest). Most producers use $/lb hanging because it tracks the actual animal.

Deposit per section. The amount a buyer pays upfront to claim a whole, half, or quarter. Set a separate deposit for each section size you allow. Deposits are collected through Stripe when the buyer claims.

Card chips. Up to five descriptors specific to this animal type. These show on the listing card alongside your farm highlights.

Description. Default text for listings of this animal type. Keep it about the animal and the deal; your farm story already lives on the landing page.

Click Add animal type to set up defaults for another species, then Save marketplace defaults.

Once the Selling banner on your Profile tab is clear, payments show as connected, and you have a scheduled job, you're ready to list. Pick the animal from the job, confirm the details (your defaults fill in automatically), and publish.

Buyers who claim a section pay their deposit through Stripe, and you'll get a notification. The buyer's cutsheet and remaining balance flow through Farmshare the same way they do for your other jobs.

I don't see any animals to list.
Listings come from scheduled jobs. Schedule a job with your processor first and wait for them to accept it. Only animals on accepted jobs can be listed.

I filled in my address but the banner still says it's missing.
Make sure all four fields are complete: street, city, state, and ZIP. Address 2 is optional.

Can I list before Stripe is verified?
No. Deposits need somewhere to go. Finish the Stripe setup first, then list.

What if I sell more than one species?
Set up defaults for each species under Marketplace Defaults. Each one gets its own size classes, section sizes, pricing, and deposits.

Can I change pricing on a single listing without changing my defaults?
Yes. Defaults are a starting point. Edit any listing individually and your defaults stay as they were.

How do I take my farm page down?
Contact support. Removing your listings hides them from buyers, but the farm page itself stays live while the Marketplace is in beta.
